End Of The Line (Week 12, 20th May - 25th May)

I wrote this post in advance because by the time when I should be writing this post, I would already be in the air back flying to Singapore ✈️

Also, a word of caution⚠️ Both of us got an appearance update 💇‍♂️Although let's say I changed more than I expected😏

Without further ado, let's get this done and over with! 🏁
I still can't believe that is the last week in Europe! 😱 I'll be back in NYP doing my Final Year Project while Winston is off for his SingTel Internship... It's like been yesterday that we finished our Internship assignment and we had so little fun 😫
Anyway, we spent the past few days... lazing around😅 Anti-Climactic right? It's the last week and we are spending our last week just staying at our apartment playing games and bingeing on Netflix 🤬 To be fair, we did some souvenir shopping along the main shopping street and we finished re-visiting the places that we wanted to see for one last time since both of us won't be in Europe in the foreseeable future 🤷‍♂️
First of which, is Turmberg. But wait? Haven't we already been to Turmberg🤔 TWICE?!? Well, of course, we were there twice, but Winston's father hasn't been there and I wanted to experience the view once more before we left. And yes, we took the tram up 🚋, again 🙇‍♂️ Cue the pictures 📸
Next up, we went to the Triberg waterfalls. The reasons that we didn't go there earlier is because of:
  1. It was a very long journey to reach there. It's far deep inside Germany that we had to take multiple connections when we went the first time with the summer school people.
  2. We decided that we would go after Winston's father landed, but we postponed the trip due to unforeseen circumstances 🙃
Anyway, the first time that we went there... The weather was not ideal...
Here's the second time we went there:

Did you see that? 🌈

Anyway, that's all of the places that we wanted to visit. We originally wanted to go to the Karlsruhe Zoo and the Animal Forest but due to the recent outbreak of Monkeypox 😨

So... What I will miss in Karlsruhe? Of course, the weather🌡️ Cooler than Singapore but not like really cold like wintertime (Which reminds me, I'm going to die when I reach Singapore 🥵) Next up, the cafeterias. Sure, I miss Singapore food but I miss the wide rotating variety of food that the cafeterias provide. You can have Pasta, Pizza, Curry Sausage, Daily Specials, Buffet Selections... 😵 The recycling deposit system where you pay a deposit for the plastic bottle/metal can/glass bottle and when you return them, the deposit is returned to you so that you can buy other things 🤑 As much as I would love this system to be implemented in Singapore, I know it's impossible and I still horde bottles for a while (Old habits die hard 🤦‍♂️) The seamless and connected transport system where you can be in one country and be in another country in a matter of hours, and wide array of modes of transport 🚋🚄🚍⛴ There's just too many for me to list!
Anyways, it's the end of our Overseas Internship and I just want to thank Winston for sticking by me and tolerating me for these 3 months (I may have done stupid things here and there 🤣)I also would like to thank Dr Kenny Lu (Our Internship Mentor back in NYP), Dr Christian Pape (Our Mentor in Germany) and all other lecturers involved for taking a chance on us and also guiding us through all this time🤗 This really has been an eye- opener for me and exposed me to new things that I would not expect to face. Alright, it's time to lift the vile of our Internship assignments! We were actually re-creating Retro games! It's definitely that neither of us did before and we were worried that we would flunk this Internship, but both of us did pretty good 👨‍💻 and now it is up to NYP to give us our final grade for this Internship. While Winston's Internship assignment is yet unknown, I already know my FYP assignment and it's looking pretty good 🧐
We may/may not be asked to promote this Overseas Internship, but if we're asked to, I say, go for it 😎 Sure, you will be far from home, you will be isolated from your friends just like us, but it will be worth it. This Internship will look good on your resume, and also, you will be exposed to new challenges and also you will learn new things from your assigned professor! Not to mention that you have the chance to literally travel anywhere you want in Europe as Germany is in the Schengen Area (In Europe, countries share borders which means no passport checks when you are crossing to another country in the Schengen Area but PLEASE BRING YOUR PASSPORT WHEREVER YOU GO) and also Europe is interconnected by railways 🛤️ so it will just take a few hours on the train before you're are in another European country!
